Manager
to join our growing Strategy + Transformation team. The Strategy + Transformation practice works with law firms and corporate law departments toprovide a wide range of management consulting services focused onoptimizing business strategies and improvingoperational performance through people, process, and service delivery transformation. You willsupport specific client engagements on a project-by-project basis. You will oversee and mentor associate-level individuals, providing guidance, instruction, and oversight in supporting the completion of deliverables and commitments.

You will participate in business development and marketing activities to support the continued growth of the team and Harbor.This is a full-time, hybrid position working from our Chicago office. We will also consider remote employees located in the continental U.S. and Canada. We are seeking an individual with a dynamic skill set who is willing and eager to jump into a variety of project types to help solve our clients’ strategy and operations business problems.
Job Duties + Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact on client engagements, coordinating with Project Leadership on all aspects of projects including collecting information, data analysis and research, creating reports and presentations, status updates, and leading client meetings
- Demonstrate legal industry/practice expertise and business acumen to develop and propose solutions and insights for clients as it relates to people, process, and service delivery transformation. This may include projects related broadly to in-house legal operations or law firm strategy and business services operations
- Independently structure, write, and present effectively, as well as generate organized and persuasive deliverables
- Work closely with team members and client personnel to review findings and help support implementation of recommendations
- Guide junior team members in all facets of client relationship building, project management/ execution and practice operations
- Continuously improve our practice by enhancing methodologies, project delivery approaches and tools
- Support practice administration and planning through input on business development / project pipeline tracking as well as resource planning
- Contribute to the ongoing growth of Harbor’s reputation for thought leadership and problem-solving and actively develop ideas that contribute to practice growth/evolution and company-wide strategic initiatives
Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree required, with preference given towards those with business or economics oriented degrees
- 5+ years of relevant experience in the consulting or a relevant industry role
- 3+ years experience in a client-facing role delivering projects and overseeing other resources to the completion of their tasks
- Experience with in-house law department operations and/or law firm operations and strategy strongly preferred
- Proven track record of managing multiple engagements and clients simultaneously
- Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills including experience conducting quantitative and qualitative data analysis
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills (written and spoken) demonstrating confidence, professionalism and sound judgement when interacting with clients and internal stakeholders
- Excels in a cooperative team environment; takes initiative to forward team operational efficiency through improved methodologies; able to ideate and create client deliverables with minimal oversight from senior leadership
- Positive, enthusiastic attitude and entrepreneurial spirit with an eagerness to quickly learn and develop new subject matter expertise and business skills
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize tasks, maintaining exacting standards for work product with keen attention to detail
- Advanced computer skills (primarily Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with use of Outlook, Teams and SharePoint as collaboration tools
- Occasional travel may be required (domestic or international)
