Within the Payments & Acquiring Group, the Execution Services engineering team owns the services and infrastructure for moving all kinds of money — cash, credit, crypto, or whatever’s next — between thousands of SpotOn merchants and their customers.
On a daily basis, you will:
- understand the behind-the-scenes mechanics of electronic money movement
- build the services and libraries that move money from customers to merchants
- work with our Payments API team to expose money movement functions to SpotOn product engineers
- help debug and solve critical production issues when they arise
- mentor engineers who are early in their technical careers
- work with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the company to build new features at large-scale
- help improve internal engineering standards and processes
What skill are we searching for?
- ~6 years of development in Python 3
- familiarity with FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks
- understanding of service-oriented architecture
- building and maintaining production ETL processes
- understanding of containerization, or experience with Docker/Kubernetes
- usage of cloud/hosted infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- good grasp of asynchronous programming
- contributing to code reviews
- having worked on a medium-sized team (8-10 members)
- having worked on a global team in multiple time zones
- good command of spoken and written English
