Position Overview
The Senior Accountant will have a critical and highly visible role as the team member managing day-to-day accounting operations for Ambient.ai. You will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and results-driven and significantly impact how processes are built and implemented to support the company’s significant growth trajectory. This role will routinely partner with others across multiple functions, ensuring proper alignment with policies and controls for financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
This role reports directly to the Controller at Ambient.ai.
The impact you’ll make:
- Own day-to-day accounting operations, including overall AR/AP, prepaid, fixed assets, expense reimbursements, etc., applying a thorough understanding of the business and Company process/policy (i.e., proper approvals, accounting coding, timing, etc.)
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions.
- Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes and schedules
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis for assigned accounts, identifying and resolving any differences within the close period. Reconciliations must be accurate and complete
- Compile and prepare entries to general ledger accounts, providing support that is organized, accurate, and descriptive
- Develop, analyze, and modify specific accounting processes and procedures to ensure continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and strengthen internal controls.
- Assist in the decision-making, implementation, and integration of potential new systems to support our business growth.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and process improvement projects as assigned
The amazing skills you’ll bring to Ambient.ai:
- Bachelor’s degree in business (Accounting/Finance) or related field
- 2+ years of experience in an accounting environment, Big 4, or fast-paced SaaS company is a plus
- CPA designation preferred
- Strong knowledge of accounting (debits, credits, financial principles, reconciliations)
- Superior Excel skills are a plus
- Excellent organizational & communication skills, along with being extremely detail-oriented
- High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability
- Self-starter with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Ability to demonstrate a positive and flexible work attitude
