iParametrics supports a variety of disaster response and recovery programs at the federal, state, and local levels. One such program is Disaster Case Management. Disaster Case Management is a time-limited process by which a skilled professional known as a Disaster Case Manager partners with a disaster-affected individual or family in order to plan for and achieve realistic goals for recovery following a disaster. This comprehensive and holistic Disaster Case Management approach to recovery extends beyond providing relief, providing a service, or meeting urgent needs.
Disaster Case Management Supervisors (DCMS) provide direct supervision to disaster case managers. They effectively oversee and direct case management services, including advocacy, information and referral, and crisis intervention services, to all residents with unmet disaster needs. DCMS with a Master of Social Work or Psychology or proven experience in disaster services or case management is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day management and implementation of the disaster case management program, including tracking, reports, outreach, and staff supervision
- Utilize knowledge of government and community-based resources available to each County's’ Disaster Case Manager in the assigned area.
- Works with the Program Manager to identify disaster survivor trends, gaps in service, training needs, and necessary outreach
- Meet individually with each disaster case manager at least bi-weekly and provide technical support and mentorship
- Provide active support and mentorship to Disaster Case Managers in their Long-Term Recovery Groups
- Determine eligibility, develop and implement resource plans, and monitor progress.
- Provide crisis intervention and emergency services as needed.
- Compile statistical reports
- And other tasks as necessary
Required Qualifications:
- Master's’ degree in social work or related field or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in disaster service and/or social services program delivery.
- A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities including ability to be flexible in dealing with multiple constituencies.
- Excellent interpersonal, listening; and administrative skills.
- The ability to work flexible hours based on client and community needs.
- Ability to participate in all in-service training, program meetings and designated agency-related activities.
- Ability to speak at public events about the program offerings of HHDR and sequence of delivery.
- A valid Driver’s License and use of personal vehicle for reimbursable work.
- Other tasks as necessary.
- Spanish speaking preferred, not required.
Special Position/Work Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicel is required for this position.
- Situational Awareness: Field conditions may be austere, including exposure to excessive heat and cold, sun exposure, and project-site trailers with limited or no heating or air conditioning. Other risks may include air quality issues, standing water, mosquitos, snakes, debris, and other exposures.
- Physical Requirements: Project work may require extensive walking and standing for long periods of time; working in small spaces, tunnels, and ditches; climbing ladders or stairs; walking/working on uneven surfaces; lifting up to 25 pounds.
