Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday; 40 hours/week

Your Impactful Role
- The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for the coordination of the surgery schedule and all aspects of the scheduling process.
- Schedules all surgical procedures and pre-operative visits.
- Obtains and enters the necessary booking information from person requesting surgical time.
- Communicates special request of surgical instruments and equipment for operative procedures, to the Clinical Director or Charge RN.
- Prepares patient initial medical folder/file for the Central Testing Department.
- Serves as back-up of all areas of the Administrative Office which includes Front Desk Coordinator and Medical Records Coordinator.
- Allows adequate time for each procedure and leaves enough time between cases for turnover.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient and employee information.
- Performs assigned duties as well as other functions as needed. Demonstrates competence and seeks guidance, direction and assistance when needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a customer care representative in medical office.
- 2 years of general business office or hospital/medical office experience.
- Knowledgeable in medical and/or orthopedic terminology and of Medicare, managed care and commercial insurances products and plans.
- Must be familiar with CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 codes and CMS regulation preferred.
- Strong computer skills, ability to type 30wpm, knowledge of ten key.

Physical Demands and Work Conditions:
In this role, you'll experience the rigorous yet rewarding physical demands of the job. You can expect to stand, walk, talk, and hear during your shifts. There may be occasions when you're on your feet for extended periods, involving tasks such as pushing, pulling, or moving patients on stretchers. Your work environment may expose you to anesthetic gases, hazardous chemicals, blood and body fluids, sharps, and cleaning solutions. You'll need to move all extremities within the full range of motion and perform stooping and bending at 90 degrees. Regularly, you'll lift and move objects up to 20 pounds and possess specific vision abilities, including close vision. The surgical arena features a moderate noise level, creating a professional and supportive atmosphere dedicated to patient care and your professional development.
