iParametrics supports a variety of disaster response and recovery programs at the federal, state, and local levels. One such program is Disaster Case Management. Disaster Case Management is a time-limited process by which a skilled professional known as a Disaster Case Manager partners with a disaster-affected individual or family in order to plan for and achieve realistic goals for recovery following a disaster. This comprehensive and holistic Disaster Case Management approach to recovery extends beyond providing relief, providing a service, or meeting urgent needs.
Disaster Case Managers will be responsible for accurate case documentation, resource development, and referrals to individuals and families. They will work closely with local communities and present case information confidentially to obtain funding support for necessary unmet needs for disaster survivor recovery.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize knowledge of government and community-based resources available;
- Travel to client locations to assess needs and provide assistance;
- Determine eligibility, develop and implement resource plans, and monitor progress;
- Advocate on client's behalf with service and benefit providers;
- Provide follow-up to facilitate survivors’ return to the pre-disaster level of well-being;
- Maintain detailed case files and database entry;
- Other tasks as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field;
- Case management experience (1-2 years preferred);
- The ability to work remotely when necessary
- Exceptional oral and written communication
- The ability to work flexible hours based on client and community needs;
- Ability to participate in all in-service training, program meetings and designatedagency-related activities;
- Spanish speaking or multi-lingual preferred, not required.
Special Position/Work Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicel is required for this position.
- Situational Awareness: Field conditions may be austere, including exposure to excessive heat and cold, sun exposure, and project-site trailers with limited or no heating or air conditioning. Other risks may include air quality issues, standing water, mosquitos, snakes, debris, and other exposures.
- Physical Requirements: Project work may require extensive walking and standing for long periods of time; working in small spaces, tunnels, and ditches; climbing ladders or stairs; walking/working on uneven surfaces; lifting up to 25 pounds.
