About the Role
You will work with a team of domain and marine terminal automation experts to design, buildand continually improving an integrated, end-to-end system that will transform how the marine terminals operate. As a member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of marine terminal operations. Your expertise will contribute to the automation and optimization of processes critical to the efficiency and success of marine terminals.
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with Product Management, Business Analysis, Professional Services and Quality Assurance teams to delivery highly efficient features and functionality
- Taking ownership of a product feature and drive design, code, and feature reviews
- Ensuring the technical integrity of a development, in accordance with the clients’ requirements
- Identifying and developing solutions for bug fixes and changes to our range of applications
- Acting as a technology authority in short or long-term planning, making recommendations on technical approaches within an overall program
- Providing advanced technical support and advice to others on engagement/program during proposal writing, solution design and implementation
- Providing first-hand supervision and guidance to Software Engineers on assigned activities
- Some international travel to customers and our other offices may be required
Requirements
- BE/BTech/MCA/MSC IT preferable
- 5+ years of professional experience in software development
- Highly proficient in Java and solid understanding of full stack development
- Experience with Git version control, and hands-on experience with continuous integration systems like TeamCity, Jenkins.
- Strong knowledge/experience with Object Oriented methodologies, design patterns, application architecture
- Strong understanding of application software, scalability, performance, and reliability aspects
- Hands on experience in relational database modelling & queries
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Highly experienced with software development processes, and in particular, software design and unit/integration testing
- Experience in converting user/business requirements into technical solutions
- Highly motivated individual, who is ready to accept challenges, continually innovate, learn, and help others
- Ability to work in a fast paced, test-driven, collaborative, and iterative programming environment
- Ability to coach and mentor junior members in the team
- Ability to work with cross functional teams
- Fluent in written and spoken English
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with open source frameworks such as Hibernate, Spring a plus
- Experience working on an offshore team of developers is a plus
Benefits & Compensation
The following is a summary of the benefits currently offered by Kaleris to its local employees in India. These benefits are periodically reviewed and are subject to change at any time by the company on its sole discretion.
- Holidays - 11 Company paid holidays according to the published schedule for each year.
- Vacation/Annual Leave - 1.66 working days are accrued on a pro-rata basis every month and may be availed on employee's discretion, with prior approval. Unutilized portion of up to 40 days is carried forward to the next calendar.
- Casual Leave - 10 days of paid casual leave earned per calendar year. Casual leaves cannot be carried forward to the next calendar year. Any unused, accrued casual leave balance will not be paid out upon termination.
- Volunteering Time Off - Volunteering Time Off is one paid day off for employees to contribute their time to recognized charitable institutions, causes, or non-profit organizations. Any unused VTO will not be carried forward or paid out.
- Paid Parental Leave - Eligible employees can avail paid time off for birth, care, and bonding time with their newborn or adopted child. The primary care giver can avail 12 weeks of paid parental leave while the secondary care giver can avail 2 weeks of paid leaves. In countries where the current Parental leave benefits are better compared to the Paid Parental leaves, the local policy will take precedence.
- Flexible Work Policy - The company offers a hybrid working structure and flexible working hours to all employees.
- Hospitalization Insurance - Employees and their immediate family are eligible to participate in the company's group hospital benefit insurance plan for India. The sum insured for the employee policy that includes the employee, spouse and 2 children will be INR 600,000/- floater and a includes the employee, spouse and 2 children will be INR 600,000/- floater and a Parental Coverage of INR 300,000/- in the 20% co-pay model.Employees can also choose to top up for the parental insurance by paying the extra premium through payroll deduction.
- Life & Accident Insurance - The company provides two times of annual base salary, at no additional cost, in basic life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance.
- Business Travel Insurance - When traveling 100 miles (161 kilometers) or more on company business, employees are provided 24 hour worldwide all-risk accident protection at no cost to the employee.
- Employee Assistance Program - The company offers customized program offering professional counselling and consultation for our employees and families, that helps employees overcome various life challenges by providing access to trained, knowledgeable resources.
- Leave travel allowance - The company provides an amount annually as leave travel allowance. This is part of salary break up and is considered non-taxable on submission of proof of travel.
- Meal Allowance - The company has provision for providing a Sodexo meal card upto a maximum value of INR 3600 per month; adjusted against your special allowance and considered non-taxable income.
- Fuel Allowance - The company has provision for providing a Sodexo fuel card upto a maximum value of INR 3000 per month; adjusted against your special allowance and considered non-taxable income.
- Broadband Allowance - The company provides a Broadband Allowance of INR 1000 per month as non-taxable income.
- IT gadgets Allowance - The company will provide a gadget allowance of INR 4000 once every two years.
- Provident Fund - 12% is be deducted each month from the basic salary and the company contributes an equivalent amount towards employee's provident fund.
- Gratuity - All employees completing 5 years of continuous service will be eligible for gratuity at the time of separation from the company. Gratuity will be paid at the rate of ½ months basic salary for each year of completed service.
- Tuition Reimbursement - The company encourages learning and reimburses 75% of the cost of pre-approved, highly job-specific courses taken and passed in a confirmed employee's spare time up to an annual limit of INR 60,000.
