Production Manager - El Segundo, CA


You will be responsible for the leadership of our FAA PMA (Parts Manufacturer Approval) operations efforts. This includes managing the team’s execution of assembly, testing, tear-down, and inspection of aviation hardware and LRUs.  You will use your expertise to lead the manufacturing of SkyOS with adherence to FAA regulations, internal quality management systems (AS9100), and other standards. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Responsible for the management of all aspects of the manufacturing activities LRU (production, planning, manufacturing engineering, safety)
  • Set expectations, audit performance, counsel employees, and sets policies and practices to exceed department goals
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of continuous improvement processes within manufacturing
  • Support the escalation of any nonconforming materials, hardware, software, tools, parts, assemblies, or portions thereof, according to specifications, processes, and procedures as needed
  • Interface with Supply Chain, Quality, and other departments to ensure all relevant information is communicated effectively across the organization
  • Supply FAA conformity documentation to the appropriate departments
  • Assist with other functions of the manufacturing of aircraft parts as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Aerospace, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in an aviation production environment
  • Experience with assembly instructions, blueprint reading, and other specifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement activities, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma principles
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Master of Science degree in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Aerospace, Engineering, or related field 
  • High level understanding of GD&T 
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • 8+ years of experience in an aviation production environment
