Manufacturing Quality Inspector - El Segundo, CA


As a Manufacturing Quality Inspector, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the precision and quality of finished parts by reading and reviewing blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerances. Additionally, you'll generate inspection reports, enforce AS9100 QMS standards, and provide support for Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes as needed. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Read and review blueprints (GD&T) to determine actual part dimensions and tolerances of finished parts.
  • Maintain critical equipment and tooling  to ensure proper operation and calibration.
  • Support quality management system (QMS) policies and procedure documentation.
  • Support the Material Review Board (MRB) process by documenting and managing non-conformances.
  • Create set-up instructions for CMM operations and utilize CMM as needed.
  • Generate & maintain inspection reports to document findings and evaluate potential risks.
  • Enforce AS9100 QMS standards throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Support RCCA and CAPA as needed at all sites.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • 2+ years of inspection experience in an aerospace, DoD, or manufacturing environment
  • Experience working in an ISO9001, AS9100, or other NADCAP-certified environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to interpret blueprints and assembly instructions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Experience working at a startup company
  • 5+ years of inspection experience in an aerospace, general aviation, PMA, DoD, or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with hand tools, mills, lathes, and other machinery preferred
