Job Summary:
The Technical Project Manager with a development background is responsible for leading and managing software development projects from initiation to completion. This role requires a deep understanding of software development processes, hands-on technical expertise, and strong project management skills. The Technical Project Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, developers, and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, technical requirements, and deliverables.
- Develop detailed project plans, outlining development tasks, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Conduct project kickoff meetings, ensuring alignment on technical and project objectives.
- Provide technical guidance and support to development teams.
- Collaborate with architects and developers to design robust and scalable software solutions.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes.
- Lead and motivate cross-functional development teams.
- Manage and allocate development resources effectively.
- Implement Agile methodologies to drive iterative development.
- Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings.
- Monitor and report on project progress, adapting plans as necessary.
- Establish and oversee quality assurance processes throughout the development lifecycle.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with coding standards.
- Implement testing strategies to validate software functionality and performance.
- Identify potential technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Proactively address technical issues that may impact project timelines or deliverables.
- Communicate technical concepts and project status to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Conduct regular status meetings and provide timely updates.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, code documentation, and project reports.
- Ensure documentation is accessible and up to date for all team members.
- Evaluate technical outcomes and identify opportunities for process improvement.
