JOB TITLE - LOCATION 


As the Lead Technician, you will oversee the meticulous execution of assembly, testing, tear-down, and inspection of aviation hardware. Leveraging your extensive experience and leadership skills, you will support and guide the development of SkyOS, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, internal quality management systems (AS9100), and other standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Lead the assembly, tear-downs, inspections, and testing of mechanical and electromechanical components and LRUs.
  • Provide guidance and support to technicians in the development of electromechanical assemblies and other aircraft parts within our production facility.
  • Interpret and ensure accurate implementation of manufacturing blueprints, wire diagrams, planning documents, test specifications, and other applicable documents.
  • Utilize hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, multimeters, and more to assist with testing and assembly of PMA(Parts Manufacturing Approval) components.
  • Initiate and document any nonconforming materials, hardware, software, tools, parts, assemblies, or portions thereof, according to specifications, processes, and procedures.
  • Mentor and train junior technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
  • Assist with other functions of the manufacturing of aircraft parts as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent
  • 6+ years of experience in an aviation production environment
  • Proven experience with assembly instructions, blueprint reading, and other specifications
  • Basic computer skills required: (Windows, MacOS, Excel, Gmail)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Experience working at a startup
  • 6+ years of experience in an aviation production environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with Material Review Board (MRB) process
