Your Impactful Role
As a Medical Records Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and organization of medical records at our center. Your responsibilities include maintaining records in compliance with State and Federal Regulations, performing chart audits, and facilitating medical record requests from various stakeholders. You'll be at the forefront of promoting efficient patient care by ensuring that medical records are readily accessible and up-to-date.
- Patient-Centered Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized medical records in compliance with State and Federal Regulations, ensuring that patient information is readily accessible to healthcare providers.
- Chart Auditing and Organization: Conduct thorough chart audits to verify completion and accuracy, ensuring that all medical records are meticulously organized and up-to-date.
- Operative Report Management: Retrieve and file operative reports in patient charts promptly and accurately, facilitating seamless access to critical medical information for our clinical staff.
- Efficient Record Requests Processing: Process medical record requests from attorneys, patients, insurance companies, physicians, clinics, and hospitals promptly and accurately, demonstrating a commitment to customer service excellence.
- Chart Retrieval and Maintenance: Efficiently file and pull charts as necessary, maintaining a well-organized and accessible medical records system.
- Off-Site Record Coordination: Coordinate requests for off-site medical records from storage companies, ensuring timely retrieval and delivery of essential patient information.
- Special Assignment Management: Maintain the designated area of Special Assignment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in fulfilling departmental needs.
- Your Team: You'll collaborate closely with our Front Desk Supervisor and colleagues across departments to uphold the highest standards of patient care and service excellence.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- 1-2 years of administrative experience, preferably in a medical setting.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Outlook.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with AdvantX and/or EMR (Athena) software is preferred.
- Familiarity with basic clinical functions, administrative practices, and operational procedures in a medical setting is preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Conditions:
In this role, you'll experience the rigorous yet rewarding physical demands of the job. You can expect to stand, walk, talk, and hear during your shifts. There may be occasions when you're on your feet for extended periods, involving tasks such as pushing, pulling, or moving patients on stretchers. Your work environment may expose you to anesthetic gases, hazardous chemicals, blood and body fluids, sharps, and cleaning solutions. You'll need to move all extremities within the full range of motion and perform stooping and bending at 90 degrees. Regularly, you'll lift and move objects up to 20 pounds and possess specific vision abilities, including close vision. The surgical arena features a moderate noise level, creating a professional and supportive atmosphere dedicated to patient care and your professional development.
