We are looking for an experienced project engineer to lead the development and operation of an integrated test lab used to test a complex eVTOL aircraft. The incumbent will manage the activities required to define, develop, implement and commission the integrated test lab, track the project status from initiation to delivery and operation, create and manage the project schedule, coordinate departmental and cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality assurance, and configuration management.
What you will do:
- Lead the standing up of an integrated test asset from concept to operation.
- Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure that the test asset is provisioned with the equipment in accordance with the requirements.
- Assure that the test asset is configured as designed and specified.
- Conduct design reviews as required.
- Assure that the test asset documentation is complete and correct; this includes specifications, design, and operation & training manuals.
- Deliver the test asset in time to support the test program master schedule.
- Plan all activities and equipment deliveries in accordance with the test program master schedule.
- Coordinate activities for specification definition, design, procurement, assembly, commissioning and operation.
- Coordinate with Facility and IT teams as required.
- Source and manage external suppliers.
- Contribute towards the development of efficient tools and processes to be implemented within the team and across IPTs.
- Act as a scrum leader
What you have done:
- B.S. or M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering degree.
- 12 years of relevant work experience
- Experience on aircraft verification program including test for certification credit
- Experience with integrated test facilities including iron birds, systems integration test beds, hardware in the loop environment
- Knowledge of aircraft system architectures, avionics, and high voltage power distribution.
- Experience managing complex test program and multi-functional teams
- Familiarity with Agile scrum methodology
Desired:
- Experience working with high voltage battery operation and propulsion
- Familiar with communication protocols (Ethernet, A429, RS-485)
- Familiar with aerospace processes and standards: e.g. ARP4754A, DO-178C, DO-254
- Strong engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment.
