Your Opportunity
Being one of the fastest-growing CPA firms in international business, we are excited to continue the expansion of our team. We are seeking an Accounting Associate to join our business operations team. You’ll be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial reports and preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns. The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of bookkeeping, auditing, and budgeting procedures with the ability to monitor daily transactions and recommends ways to improve our client company’s financial health.
Previous work experience along with a bachelor’s degree. Ultimately, you will play a vital role in our financial operations, ensuring compliance with the law and accuracy in accounting.
Responsibilities
- Customer acquisition and retention
- Organize and update financial records as needed (digital and physical)
- Analyze transactions and prepare reports
- Perform regular, detailed audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents, expenditures, and investments
- Forecast revenue and analyze profit margins
- Oversee ledger reconciliation and manage accounts payable/receivable
- Participate in budgeting processes
- Brief client senior executives regularly on the company’s financial status
- Monitor bookkeeping activities regularly
- Keep company financial information confidential
- Establish accounting policies and procedures
- Ensure projects stay on budget
- Publish audited financial statements
- Work with executives and CEOs to establish budgets
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts; reviewing for input accuracy and prepare monthly reports and journal entries, as needed
- General ledger maintenance
- Maintain required business documents
- Stay informed on industry developments and changes in regulations
- Oversee/Prepare annual 1099’s, annual corporate and individual tax returns
- Assistance with the annual budget and audit process
- Maintain financial document retention files
- Deposit and cash reports
- Perform other related duties as needed within the scope of the position
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant area, Master’s degree a plus
- Candidates with a CPA qualification or on a CPA Track will be prioritized
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in bookkeeping and accounting
- Experience in a CPA firm is a big plus!
- Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Experience in individual and business taxes is a bonus
- Proficient in accounting software (2 years minimum experience)
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Management skills or willingness to train to be a manager
- Able to manage financial accounting and reporting projects for for-profit and not-for-profit companies
- Able to complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervision
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Thrives in a collaborative, team-player office environment
- Ability to interface well with staff and external contacts
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong organizational skills
