Because everyone has somewhere to be, someone to see, and now—a better way to get there.The AAM Infrastructure Planning Manager is responsible for the fostering and development of vertiports and other infrastructure supporting the deployment of autonomous AAM aircraft in Australia.. This role requires a dynamic individual with expertise in infrastructure planning, commercial management, business case development, government engagement and grants, and industry partnership establishment. The successful candidate will lead the efforts to create a robust infrastructure network, ensuring the successful integration of autonomous AAM aircraft into the urban transportation ecosystem.
What you will do:
- Network Planning: Using data-driven methods and in collaboration with product intelligence and flight operations team members, develop urban air mobility networks in accordance with business needs and industry standards. Develop vertiport and other infrastructure requirements.
- Engage State/Local Government on Infrastructure Planning: Collaborate with state and local government authorities to align infrastructure planning with regional goals. Advocate for necessary regulatory and planning changes to support vertiport development.
- Secure State/Federal Grants: Research and identify state and federal grants to fund initial network projects. Develop and support grant proposals, budgets, and manage grant compliance.
- Partnership Development & Management: Through formal processes, solicit and evaluate infrastructure proposals from vertiport and other infrastructure proponents analysing potential revenue streams, cost projections, and overall financial viability. Negotiate, execute and manage development agreements with successful partners ensuring that project deliverables, timelines, and budgets are met.
- Community Engagement: Develop and execute community engagement strategies to inform and educate the public about AAM aircraft. Address concerns, gather feedback, and foster support for AAM technology integration.
What you have done:
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, urban planning, or a related field. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is a plus.
- Experience in project management, business development, and government relations.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to create and evaluate business cases.
- Knowledge of state and federal grant programs and proven success in securing grants.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of the aviation and AAM industry is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, lead cross-functional teams, and adapt to a rapidly evolving industry.
