iParametrics is currently seeking I&C Engineers to support Department of Energy nuclear projects. We will consider hybrid employment where you may work remote with a minimum of
1 week per month travel to project offices in Greenville, SC.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and coordinate I&C engineering and multi-disciplined team/design projects while engaged in the planning, design, and construction phases of engineering projects.
- Perform a broad range of I&C design activities, including design definition, control systems architecture and development, digital systems, PLC, DCS, network configuration, logic development, network switches, process controls, P&ID development support and review, HMI, communication protocols, routing, and layout, SIL, and procurement activities.
- Prepare and modify instrument and control systems design documents (e.g., instrument datasheets, Input/Output wiring diagrams, schematics, panel layouts, logic diagrams, cable schedules, and instrument installation details).
- Interpret and apply National, State, and Local codes and standards, and customer design requirements for the preparation of control systems design/construction documents, specifications, and system descriptions related to assigned tasks through project startup.
- Generate and review the accuracy of design/evaluation calculations, and specifications.
- Conduct construction document reviews as required.
- Prepare engineering cost and schedule estimates.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Control Systems, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or similar accredited engineering B.S. with a minimum of 10 years of experience (nuclear preferred) in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, and related phases of engineering.
- Familiarity with MicroStation, AutoCAD, or SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) a plus.
- Professional Engineer License preferred but not required.
- Able to organize and independently work and check the work of others.
- Planning, scheduling, and status reporting skills a must.
- Must have a working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to control systems engineering design.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team-oriented, procedure-based engineering culture.
- The Department of Energy requires US citizenship to be authorized to work the projects.
This position pays $60 - $80/hr. As required by applicable pay transparency laws, iParametrics provides a range of compensation for these roles. Your actual salary may include a wide array of factors, including: specific skills, level of experience, geographic location or other relevant factors.
