About YouAs a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will play an integral role in designing, developing, and maintaining the backend systems that power our cutting-edge solution. You will specialize in data integration, distributed data processing and analytics, testing and deployment. You love what you do, and are excited to be hands-on while leading and mentoring junior engineers. Our team values collaboration, and you’ll have opportunities to engage with your team in a respectful, casual, and diverse environment.Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing services for large data volume integration.
- Data Modeling for distributed systems and databases.
- Designing and implementing a batch workflow process.
- Performing data validation.
- Creating unit and performance automated tests.
You likely have many of the following:
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases, relational databases, multidimensional and OLAP databases.
- Knowledge of microservice architecture, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Proficient in UNIX-based OS environment and command line /shell scripting.
- Proficient in Scala programming.
- Familiar with multithreaded and asynchronous programming.
- Ability to work in an agile environment.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to take on responsibilities and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work on multiple projects.
- Strong technical aptitude.
- Retail experience is a plus.
