In collaboration with the Director of Sales, this role is responsible for building relationships, driving revenue, converting leads, and maintaining satisfaction with customers and stakeholders.

The National Sales Manager plays a key role in collaborating with other departments to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.

Essential Job Duties


  • Cultivate relationships and secure business with event organizers of trade shows, conventions, and corporate meetings

  • Strategically plan and execute the sales process through discovery, consultation, and engagements with support from the Director of Sales
  • Achieve and maintain annual sales revenue of three million or greater as well as meet annual sales goals at acceptable profitability targets

  • Grow booked business by 10% on an annual basis

  • Collaborate with Director of Sales to implement and follow a plan to solicit new business

  • Build successful pipeline with short, mid, and long-term opportunities 

  • Represent Shepard at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote brand awareness and generate leads

  • Actively engage and clearly communicate with customers and prospects year-round to ensure Shepard’s consultative sales approach and service standards

  • Collaborate with Director of Sales to develop and deliver professional proposals and presentations on behalf of Shepard

  • Maintain all reporting and benchmark requirements including Salesforce

  • Work closely with internal associates such as Account Executives, Operations Leads, and others in planning, pre-show, and on-site needs

  • Maintain current knowledge about industry developments, competitors, and market trends to maintain a competitive edge
  • Treat all internal and external customers with courtesy and respect, as outlined in our Blue Diamond Customer Service program 

  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements


  • Demonstrate Core Values of Caring, Commitment, Integrity, Spirit, Responsiveness, Inclusivity, and Teamwork 

  • Ability to perform as a responsible ESOP owner by making daily decisions to benefit the client and the company 
  • 10+ years of sales experience in the industry 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented 
  • Self-motivated driver  
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems such as Salesforce 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; relevant experience may be substituted for formal education.
