Summary


As the Senior Manager of Accounting, you will serve as the GL close leader and report to the Director of Accounting. The position will lead all aspects of the financial close process ensuring timely and accurate reporting and compliance with GAAP.  In addition, this position will be responsible for the development and implementation of certain systems, controls, procedures, and policies. In addition, the Senior Manager of Accounting will lead certain company-wide initiatives and lead the integration of acquired companies in our systems.

The Senior Manager of Accounting will be a mentor to team members and promote a culture of trust, continuous improvement, and automation.

What You'll Do


  • Team Leader. Attract, develop, motivate, and manage a high-performing accounting team with steadfast focus on customer service, accountability, process excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Vision and Strategy. Drive transformational change while executing department strategy for team development, process excellence, and system effectiveness to meet accounting, finance, and company objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement. Continually assess accounting personnel, processes, and systems for improvement opportunities, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes or changes to systems in support of key initiatives.
  • Operational Leader and Thought Partner.  Foster strong relationships with finance and cross-functional leaders to gain an understanding of processes and downstream impact on financial statements while becoming a trusted advisor to the business. 
  • Accounting Excellence and Controls.  Direct and oversee assigned accounting and related control functions of the organization to achieve the team goal of producing timely and accurate financial statements, obtaining process excellence.  Partner with FP&A to ensure alignment between actuals and budget, reducing rework and streamlining the financial review process.
  • Accounting Policy.  Ensures the consistent application of the Company’s accounting policies and procedures across assigned functions ensuring timely and accurate financial information in accordance with GAAP.  Provide support to the business with the creation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Support accounting leaders in the planning and timely execution of the annual audit, working closely with the audit team.
  • Treasury. Execute the accounting and banking structure for the company in support of treasury initiatives.

What You'll Need


  • Experience integrating companies from M&A or Entity Unification, strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage in a fast-paced environment balancing executing of objectives with excellent day to day process execution by the team.
  • Highly organized with the ability to pivot and continually reprioritize. Ability to execute under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Proven record of attracting top talent and retaining employees.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.  Must be able to connect the numbers to the business and summarize data appropriately depending on the audience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required, CPA preferred.
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with previous experience as a Senior Manager or equivalent leading a strong and high performing team in a medium to large public or private company.
  • In depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Public accounting experience is a plus.
