Roles and Responsibilities:
- Be part of the agile development team and closely work with the developers.
- Develop a detailed understanding of the features/enhancements for the product – including functional specifications and design – with the perspective of performing automated and manual, white box as well as black-box testing.
- Assist in the creation of feature test plans/strategies based on development and feature completion milestones.
- Leverage automation framework for automating feature tests.
- Own end-to-end test execution for user stories.
- Create and maintain testbed setups
- Timely reporting, tracking, and updating of issues and test cases.
Key Skills:
- Good understanding of Operating systems (Windows and Linux)
- Good understanding of basic networking concepts.
- Good shell scripting skills
- Familiarity with widely used bug and test management tools such as - Jira, Testrail, etc.
- Strong programming skills in any one of the languages such as - Python/Java/Ruby/Perl.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware, HyperV, etc.
- Familiarity with various RDBMS such as Mysql, Oracle, SQL Server, etc
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High regard for quality standards and quality control.
- Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Awareness of general automation concepts, and functional and non-functional testing.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as SVN, Git, etc.
Pluses:
- Familiarity with cloud architecture.
- Familiarity with agile testing methodologies, test pyramids and quality metrics.
- Front-end web application test automation tools such as Selenium / Cypress/ Puppeteer
- Familiarity with REST API testing.
- Awareness of security, scale, and performance testing.
Experience: 1.5 to 3 years
