Job Summary:
Lead Instructors at Correlation One are responsible for delivering high-quality, live, virtual instruction and partnering with company personnel to drive exceptional learning outcomes. Their main focus as educators is to conduct large synchronous online lectures on technical content, training anywhere from 100 to 8,000+ diverse Fellows at a time, depending on the program. This role involves preparing and leading virtual classroom sessions, collaborating with operations personnel, and contributing to the overall success of the program
Program Specific Information:
The program will be held over the course of 16 weeks, from July 9, 2024 to October 31st, 2024. Sessions will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays. Times are TBD.
Virtual Classroom Leadership:
- Lead the instruction of a “virtual classroom” and deliver instruction on key concepts related to Cybersecurity areas, tailoring content to match skills and interests. This program will consist of up to 20-50 Learners.
- Conduct live and engaging lectures (4 hours per week)
- Oversee the management of class time Q&A and monitor chat flow, and overall class energy and engagement dynamics
- Approximately 2 hours / week of lecture preparation
- Collaborate with Correlation One operations personnel to perform class duties well and stay on schedule
Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with Correlation One operations personnel to ensure smooth program delivery and adherence to schedules.
- Be flexible in contributing to classes during weekdays and/or weekends, as program schedules vary.
- Assist in lesson design, development, and improvement which may include tracking edits, suggestions, or changes to curriculum as needed

- Diligently and adequately prepare for lectures to ensure the delivery of high-quality content.

- Be highly responsive and empathetic to Fellows, providing thoughtful answers and assistance throughout the lesson
- Adjust the lesson pace and presentation to meet the needs of diverse Fellows while also maintaining responsibility for timely delivery of the prepared content.
- Exhibit an energy, pacing, and ability to make complex topics accessible and maintain strong learner engagement
Communication:
- Communicate respectfully, recognizing that online or written communication may lack tone.
- Maintain extra communicative contact with Correlation One personnel.
Positive Attitude:
- Foster a healthy learning environment by maintaining a positive attitude and promoting a culture of learning.
Course Improvement:
- Contribute to course improvement by providing thoughtful and transparent feedback to the Correlation One team.
Who you are
- As the Information Security Lead Instructor, you are a seasoned professional with extensive expertise in the field of cybersecurity. With a solid background in both theoretical knowledge and practical application, you possess a deep understanding of various security principles, technologies, and methodologies. Your passion for teaching and mentoring is evident through your ability to effectively convey complex concepts to students of all levels. You are experienced preparing students to take the CompTIA Security+ certification exam and have a strong understanding of the key topics that are covered in the exam.As a dynamic leader, you are committed to empowering the next generation of cybersecurity professionals with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in today's ever-evolving threat landscape.
Your expertise
- 3-5 years of experience in the Cybersecurity field (or another related field)
- Degree in technical related field and / or industry experience in a computer specialist related role; post-graduate and research work at top institutions are also strong pluses
- CompTIA Security+ certification or related certifications (i.e. CISM)
- Previous teaching experience, preferably in a remote environment
- Experience training learners on foundational technical skill sets
- An excellent educator with a passion for teaching and helping others
- Outstanding team and people management skills
- Experience working with the Unix terminal, especially with cybersecurity-related applications
- Familiarity with the following topics: Networking, Kali Linux, Endpoint security, CompTIA Security+ Certification training, Triage
Where you are
- This role is remote and is preferred to be located in the United States or Canada
Compensation
- $300 per lecture (this includes one hour of prep time)
