Founded in 2016 with offices in Los Angeles (HQ) and New York and a staff of 41,
M13 is a consumer technology venture capital firm that invests in the brightest founders building the future of consumer behavior in work, commerce, health, and money. M13’s Propulsion Platform is powered by one operating partner for every investing partner: our founders get access to deep operational expertise, tech tools, and a community that helps them build faster and better. Messier 13 (or M13) is one of the brightest star clusters in the Northern sky. It’s full of remarkable individual stars, and when they come together, they create something greater than the sum of its parts.

All of us at M13 contribute to our success by being brighter together. We seek an Office Coordinator for our New York office, M13 East! The Employee Experience Coordinator will be the newest member of our Mission Control team and will work from our office located in the heart of Soho, NYC. Based in New York and LA, the Mission Control team is M13's heartbeat—they keep the engine running smoothly. Mission Control team members are enthusiastic culture carriers who ensure everyone at M13 is engaged and has the support they need to be at their best. From assisting M13 partnership to planning and leading people and cultural initiatives, this team supports nearly every mission M13 accomplishes!  The mission of this role is to manage M13’s NY office with an eye toward continuously improving the office experience for employees and our guests.

This person will also be responsible for supporting an M13 Partner and handling light personal assistant tasks. This role will report to M13's Chief Staff.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Be the point person in M13’s new NYC Office space for employees, vendors, and building management. Welcome all guests and provide them with a high-touch experience.
  • Manage the office's day-to-day operations—this is a hands-on role supporting a hybrid work environment. Every day, the number of people working from the office changes as various events and guests are hosted in our space.
  • Provide low-level personal assistant support to one of M13’s Managing Partners.
  • Conduct an initial audit of office systems and operating procedures, vendors, suppliers, and equipment to identify gaps and opportunities to optimize and simplify office operations.
  • Establish relationships with local vendors, ranging from office supplies to food and caterers for larger events.
  • Partner with internal teams to support events and meetings that will be held in our office. Curating an exceptional, warm, and productive environment unique to M13’s culture drives overall team engagement.
  • Contribute to planning meaningful M13 team culture-building events such as bi-annual team offsites and quarterly team dinners.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Ability to execute, kindness, patience, sense of humor, and enthusiasm for supporting smart, busy teams
  • You’re a go-getter excited to implement new processes and systems to ensure the office space is organized and running smoothly.
  • You are creative and anticipatory. You thrive while making people feel welcome and well looked after, whether knowing what their favorite snacks are or helping them set up conference rooms.
  • You are scrappy, have a ‘no task too big or small’ mindset, and are willing to roll up your sleeves to help get things done.
  • You’re hyper-organized and enjoy organizing spaces, as a general rule.
  • You have a builder mindset and are unafraid to reinvent the wheel and ask for help.
  • Attention to detail: Ability to keep the office fully stocked, from snacks, beverages, and coffee to office supplies.
  • You have experience supporting teams and individuals as a personal assistant, property manager, or office administrator.

What’s in it for you:

  • One Team, One Dream: A chance to work alongside world-class VC talent in a collaborative and developmentally-focused culture that is respectful, inclusive, diverse, and inspiring. You’ll do your life's best work here and have fun doing it.
