About the Position
As a platform engineer at Vetcove, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and enhancement of our platform infrastructure. Veterinarians, and the furry friends that rely on them, count on Vetcove’s software to power their clinic operations. You will work closely with our development team to improve our deployment processes, ensure system reliability, and implement best practices in infrastructure management.This role requires a strong foundation in writing Python application code.
What you’ll do:
Infrastructure & Software Upgrades: Update application code to support the latest infrastructure, including upgrades to database versions, 3rd party libraries, and web frameworks.
Data Management & Portability: Develop and maintain infrastructure to backup and restore data and build pipelines to stream data to third party analytics tools
Integrate New Providers and Tools: Identify, evaluate, and integrate new service providers and tools to enhance our platform capabilities.
Develop and Maintain CI/CD Pipelines: Design, implement, and manage robust continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines to streamline our software delivery and improve deployment frequency and reliability.
Standardize Development Environments: Implement and enforce standardization of development environments to ensure consistency and reliability across all stages of the software development lifecycle.
Monitor Code and Infrastructure: Leverage monitoring tools to maintain the health and performance of our applications and infrastructure, quickly identifying and resolving issues.
High Availability and Scalability: Plan and implement strategies for high availability, self-healing mechanisms, health checks, and scaling to ensure the resilience and scalability of our systems.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
What we are looking for:
We believe there are a couple traits that will make you perfect for this role:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
You have several years of professional experience writing Python in production systems
You have experience developing and maintaining deployment infrastructure
You have experience developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
A passion for pets is always a big plus, but certainly not required!
