With Northstar Select™, clinicians will be able to select cancer therapies that will be most effective to each patient based on their individual genetic makeup. Northstar Response™ will enable clinicians to monitor a patient’s early response to these cancer therapies, by measuring minute changes in their ctDNA, which can reduce ineffective treatments and unwanted toxicity, lower costs, and substantially improve clinical outcomes.We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join and take ownership of BillionToOne’s payroll process from beginning to end. You will act as BillionToOne’s go-to-person for payroll related questions. This role will be responsible for timely processing of the company’s bi-weekly payroll as well as off-cycle payrolls.
The ideal candidate will have multi-state payroll experience and great attention to detail. This position is ideally a hybrid role (2 days from our office in Menlo Park or Union City, CA) and will report to the Senior Payroll Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Acts as back-up to the Sr. Payroll Manager
- Ensure that bi-weekly payroll is processed accurately in a timely manner
- Process off-cycle payrolls as needed
- Ensure all payroll recons balance prior to retrieving approval for the Payroll
- Manage leave of absence and unpaid leave payroll processes for employees
- Ensure proper benefit deductions are being deducted for employees
- Work collaboratively with the People Ops team on all things related to payroll
- Provide reports to stakeholders
- Help with booking Accounting entries in the Sr. Payroll Manager’s absence
- Spend 20% of time performing other duties or special projects in Accounting as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field
- 5+ years experience in Payroll
- Experience processing multi-state payroll (we’re currently in ~40 jurisdictions)
- Strong Excel skills (vlookup, pivot tables, etc.)
- Ability to work well under tight deadlines and have a high level of customer service to employees
- Experience with ADP WorkForceNow
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Start up experience preferred
- Experience with shift differentials preferred
