About the Team:
Relativity Space is looking for a highly motivated Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our EHS Team. The EHS Specialist will work daily with our Long Beach frontline operations and technician teams, and will partner with our EHS personnel to meet EHS objectives and comply with local, state, and federal regulations. This position will be based in our manufacturing facility working alongside frontline operations performing inspections, risk assessments (JHAs), and coaching our frontline operations teams, while also helping the EHS team create and deliver strategic programs.
About the Role:
EHS Specialists are the executors for tasks and objectives related to larger projects and EHS strategy at Relativity’s locations. Specialists are strategic project managers, safety culture drivers, and EHS subject matter experts. Responsibilities may include:
- Drive incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action management.
- Provide EHS support to frontline personnel including leadership, responsible engineers, specialists, and technicians.
- Develop, implement, and manage EHS Policies and Procedures.
- Drive initiatives that create a positive safety culture.
- Build and deploy EHS training strategies.
- Support equipment design and testing procedure reviews.
- Identify and assess risk throughout factory operations while driving mitigation controls to lower risk.
- Solving complex/difficult safety issues – working with WAAM Teams to develop enhanced safety control logic for print cells
- Partner with the team to create and review risk assessments such as HAZOPs for process systems, JHAs, etc.
- Providing review and direction related to safety of new processes or designs.
About You:
- Bachelors degree in Occupational health and safety, environmental sciences, or equivalent
- First Aid, CPR, AED, and BBP certified - Relativity will provide training if certification has lapsed.
- Minimum 3-5 years experience working in the EHS field. (experience in manufacturing, construction, oil & gas, or other high risk industries preferred.)
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Experience performing JHAs and field inspections.
- Experienced and comfortable delivering training pertaining to EHS topics.
Nice to haves but not required:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- EMT certification and experience
- Completion of coursework or training on following topics:
- OSHA 30 hour – Relativity will provide this training after start date
- HAZWOPER 40 hour training
- Forklift operator certified
- Aerial lift operator certified
- RCRA / DOT Hazardous Waste Certified – Relativity will provide this training after start date
