About the Role
FareHarbor (FH) is seeking a proactive Business Controller to join our Finance team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our internal Finance team, internal stakeholders and relevant Booking.com stakeholders to shape financial strategies and drive business success. The ideal candidate will help to optimize our financial performance and support cross-functional projects that contribute to our growth and operational efficiency. A FareHarbor Business Controller should be eager to tackle new projects while also being comfortable seeking assistance when necessary.
The role is best suited to a candidate who is data-savvy and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
What you’ll do here:
- Maintain a strong network outside of Finance, leveraging this to translate financial insights into actionable recommendations for senior management and key stakeholders.
- Enhance existing financial reporting systems and processes to ensure more efficient and accurate data handling and presentation, making use of financial tools (eg. Anaplan)
- Expertly synthesize various financial models to construct comprehensive financial statements, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the budgeting and forecasting process
- Initiate and support business cases whether brought by stakeholders or identified through proactive recognition of needs, ensuring they align with organizational goals
- Actively participate in team discussions, introducing your ideas and relevant topics
- Maintain close collaboration with Booking.com with respect to forecasting, budgeting and ad-hoc requests
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Engineering or any related field)
- 4-6 years of professional experience in a business control or financial analysis role.
- Proficiency in financial planning software and business intelligence tools (eg. Anaplan, Tableau)
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint/Google Slides
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage effectively across various departments.
- Proven track record of contributing to cross-functional projects and making strategic recommendations based on financial insights.
- Pro-active and persistent, with strong analytical and organizational skills
- Known for developing and delivering results on a timely basis
- Able to work in an ambiguous, fast-growing, team-first environment - we’re only a decade old and not everything is buttoned-up. Patience and flexibility will be useful attributes to have
