OVERVIEW


Then I Met You, a leading innovator in the Korean skincare industry, is scaling rapidly and seeks a Director of Marketing who combines strategic vision with a hands-on approach to execution. This role is a unique opportunity to join us at a critical inflection point for the brand’s growth, and requires a proactive, driven, beauty leader capable of managing high-level marketing strategies while also diving deep into the day-to-day operational activities as we scale into international markets and top beauty retailers.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience and a robust background in all facets of marketing, with the ability to manage multiple timelines–swiftly toggling between planning and direct implementation–in a fast-paced and engaging startup environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Strategic Leadership and Tactical Execution: Oversee all marketing planning and operations, blending strategic planning with hands-on execution to enhance our brand's market presence and achieve business goals during a period of rapid growth.
  • Comprehensive Marketing Expertise: Demonstrate excellence across all marketing domains, including digital, social media, performance marketing, PR & influencers (paid and organic) ensuring cohesive brand messaging and metrics optimization throughout all stages of the marketing funnel.
  • Campaign Development and Hands-On Implementation: Develop and execute innovative campaigns and comprehensive marketing strategies to drive brand awareness, customer acquisition, and sales both online and in retail locations. Big picture thinker with ability to craft and connect innovative brand awareness and loyalty driving ideas into strategic 360 global campaigns, in collaboration with the Associate Director, Creative.
  • Retail Marketing: Be the marketing liaison for retail partners, specifically specialty retailers like Sephora. Own marketing collaboration, from strategy to execution, ensuring Then I Met You has unique and relevant positioning in domestic and international markets.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze marketing data to set goals, gauge the effectiveness of campaigns, directly engage in adjusting tactics in real-time, and provide detailed reports with actionable insights and recommendations. Utilize data-driven insights and analytics to track performance, optimize campaigns, and drive continuous improvement in marketing effectiveness and ROI.
  • Team Management: Lead a diverse, fun, and fast-paced marketing team while directly engaging in critical marketing activities, ensuring that strategic initiatives are effectively implemented at the operational level and work is delegated appropriately across the team. Provide leadership to direct reports including coaching, development and strategic/tactical direction, serving as a mentor and role-model to team members.
  • Finance: Oversee and deliver a robust marketing and communications cost budget, delivering activities at best ROAS on time and within agreed budget; work with Finance to meet quarterly forecasting expectations
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Be a true team player, working closely with other department leads to integrate marketing strategies with product development, operations, customer experience and new business development, ensuring seamless operation and brand consistency across all user touchpoints.

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Minimum of 10 years of marketing experience, with substantial leadership roles requiring both strategic and tactical expertise.
  • Strong background in all aspects of marketing, particularly digital marketing and data analytics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable marketing strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting ideas and results tailored to diverse audiences, including executive level.
  • Proven track record of developing successful marketing strategies that have driven revenue growth, brand recognition, and measurably increased awareness across segments.
  • Beauty industry experience required, with a deep understanding of consumer behavior, trends, and preferences.
  • Experience scaling a brand is strongly preferred.

In accordance with the applicable law, the following represents a good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum compensation range for this position:The estimated annual pay range for this role is $120,000-$150,000.

  • There may be future opportunities for continued pay progression based on continued strong performance in the role.
