This is a hybrid position with 2 days per week from your home office, and 3 days per week from our business office in Columbia, MD.
We are immediately seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our Finance Team. The position requires the ability to work from our office in Columbia, MD.
Essential Functions:
- Process and record payroll and benefits transactions
- Process Expense reports for payment
- Receive vendor invoices, review and verify approval prior to posting.
- Maintain vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Respond to all vendor inquiries.
- Prepare Checks and ACH’s for payment
- Daily process to gather the subledger data for invoicing.
- Prepare, verify, and post invoices and submits to customers.
- Verify, post and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
- Assists in reconciling revenue accounts each month.
- Maintains A/R aging accounts list to contact and collect on past due amounts
- Responds to customer inquiries in timely manner
- Understands cash application.
- Maintain files and documentation according to policy and accepted accounting practices.
- Assist with other projects as needed.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associates degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Highly proficient in QuickBooks Online
- A complete or comprehensive understanding of accounting practices and procedures
- Proven accounts/payable/receivable process experience
- Attention to detail, proactive and self-motivated
- Works well under pressure and with changing priorities
- Good communication skills
