Pacific Defense, a small fast-growing company that develops and provides advanced electronic systems for the U.S. Department of Defense, is looking for a Helpdesk Technician Intern to join our IT Support team. Pacific Defense designs and builds advanced, military standards-based, modular open systems architecture (MOSA) systems. These systems conform to the Army’s C4ISR Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS) and the Air Force’s Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA) Standard. These CMOSS/SOSA systems are used for multi-mission electronic warfare, tactical communications, signals intelligence, cyber-EW, high speed computing or simultaneous combinations of these capabilities.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Helpdesk Technician Intern who wants to gain experience with a small, fast-paced, and dynamic company. Our IT personnel work as a team that collaborates to provide technical support via phone, email, walk-up, and help desk ticketing system. The candidate will provide technical support by assisting users, performing installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of company related software/hardware, and troubleshooting software and hardware failures. Most of importantly, this candidate enjoys helping people.

Requirements
Requirements:
- Eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
- Experience with Information Systems Security processes.
- The ability to collaborate in a team environment, as well as work independently.
- A strong desire to learn.
- Excellent attention to detail, with consistency and accuracy in performing job-related tasks.
- Proficiency or experience with:
- Windows 10.x/11.x, Microsoft Office (Office 365, Outlook / OWA)
- Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu) a plus
- MacOS
- Windows PowerShell, Windows Batch scripts, Shell Scripting: Bash, Perl,
- End user network troubleshooting
- The ability to systematically troubleshoot technical issues.
- The ability to multitask projects along with day-to-day duties.
- Excellent customer service skills with written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organization, time management, and prioritization skills with the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-changing work environment.
- The ability to lift 50 lbs.
Responsibilities:
- Daily on-site IT resource for the El Segundo, CA office.
- Learn and assist IT team with support for all corporate helpdesk requests including software, desktop hardware, network, and project related infrastructure for end users.
- Provide a friendly and professional helpdesk experience and be able to be able to resolve technical issues for both local and remote users.
- Assisting with IT orientation for all new hires.
- Maintain inventory and asset assignments and provide basic user training on all aspects of IT.
- Experience building and maintaining desktop and laptop images that support corporate platform standards.
- Perform monthly maintenance on IT Equipment and perform upgrades as needed.
Education:
Actively enrolled in a two or four year college or university in an IT Focused field
