The ideal candidate will possess integrity, commitment to our mission, a high level of accountability, a warrior ethos, and the ability to lead by example.Key Responsibilities:
- Manage discovery and index documents.
- File pleadings.
- Draft business correspondence.
- Manage attorney calendars.
- Assist attorneys in all steps of trial preparation.
- Conduct legal research.
- Coordinate and communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts.
- Organize and maintain case files and documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of legal briefs and memoranda.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and electronic.
- Self-motivated and capable of handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Strong multi-tasking skills with a professional disposition and excellent phone etiquette.
- Highly organized, tenacious, and able to work independently without constant supervision.
- A "tip of the spear" mindset – relentless in advancing justice for clients.
- Proficient in various software programs, quick learner, and capable of recording files and data in document management software.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a criminal defense legal assistant.
