Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified Inventory Accountant to be based at our Mumbai - Goregaon office. This position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of inventory data, contributing to the financial health and operational efficiency of the organization.Key Responsibilities
- Month-End Reconciliations: Conduct thorough reconciliations of inventory balances between internal records and third-party data sources. Investigate, identify and correct any discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
- General Ledger Entries: Book journal entries as needed to correct inventory balances in the general ledger. Ensure that all adjustments are accurately recorded and compliant with US GAAP.
- Collaboration with Operations Team: Work closely with the operations team to identify and resolve discrepancies and improve inventory management processes. Communicate effectively to address issues and implement solutions in a timely manner.
- Product Cost Inquires: Serve as a subject matter expert for inventory-related questions from various departments, including being able to explain how the ERP system is calculating product cost for deals.
- Financial Audits: Provide supporting documentation and address questions from auditors and banks.
- Costs coding: Provide accurate coding to Invoicing and Banking teams for booking secondary cost invoices and bank charges.
- Process Improvements: Continuously seek opportunities to streamline month-end reconciliation processes and enhance efficiency. Implement best practices to ensure timely and accurate reporting of inventory data.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations governing inventory management. Prepare and present reports on inventory reconciliation findings, highlighting any areas of concern or improvement opportunities.
- Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and address any challenges related to inventory reconciliations and general ledger maintenance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop effective processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory accounting, month-end reconciliations, and general ledger management preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Must be well organized, able to work effectively and manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.

- Ability to work extended hours during various times of the month/year.
