The Senior IT Administrator will manage and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, and software. This role involves strategic planning, problem-solving, and ensuring the security and scalability of IT systems. The Senior IT Administrator might potentially also lead a team of IT professionals, provide technical guidance, and collaborate with other departments to support the organization’s technology needs.
RESPONSIBILITIESInfrastructure Management:

  • Infrastructure Management:

  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, networks, and firewalls.
  • Ensure the efficient operation of the IT infrastructure, including monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues.

Security Management:

  • Implement and maintain security protocols to protect the organization’s IT assets.
  • Manage firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.

System Administration:

  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Oversee backup and disaster recovery processes.
  • Ensure software and hardware are up to date and compliant with licensing agreements.

Project Management:

  • Plan and implement IT projects, including system upgrades and migrations.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and other third parties for procurement and support.
  • Develop and manage project budgets and timelines.

Technical Support:

  • Provide advanced technical support to internal users.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex IT issues in a timely manner.

Policy Development:

  • Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Documentation:

  • Maintain detailed documentation of IT systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Prepare reports on system performance, security incidents, and project progress.

  • Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and manage software licenses.
  • Create and document IT best practices and support procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Contribute to ensuring the IT department functions efficiently and adheres to best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT administration or a similar role
  • Experience in managing Mac devices (e.g., Macbook)
  • Extensive knowledge of network and server management, including Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CCNA, MCSE) are a plus.
