Position Summary
PMA has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager at the San Francisco International Airport. The Project Manager will play a crucial role in managing an airline Tenant Improvement project. The ideal candidate should have a background in architecture or engineering and be able to work with diverse teams, including contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders. The position will lead and oversee design and construction management projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for these projects' technical, field, and administrative aspects.
Based out of the SF area is preferred.
The successful candidate will:
- Collaborate with clients, designers, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Lead all construction-related meetings and deliver presentations to various executives and stakeholders, including airport staff, airport and airline management, and contractor personnel.
- Collaborate with third-party monitors as necessary.
- Coordinate with the building department regarding construction submittals, RFIs, and building permit status.
- Coordinate and review contractor design drawings, specifications, construction proposals, documents, and payment applications.
- Review monthly progress payments to ensure general conditions and general requirement costs are compliant with the contract.
- Manage contracts, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and construction sequencing. Coordinate and align reviews and construction activities among critical parties, including contractors, inspectors, airport groups, airline representatives, consultants, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Leveraging experience in project management, project controls, contract management, risk analysis, and mitigation, the successful candidate will take proactive measures to ensure critical project milestones are achieved.
- Review the change order processing, review negotiations, prepare and control change orders, facilitate dispute resolution, and implement claims avoidance strategies.
- Coordinate and oversee any required tenant relocations as required due to construction sequencing. This includes stakeholder engagement regarding tenant needs for temporary and permanent relocations.
- Manage project closeout administration, including coordination and assistance for final inspection, preparation of contractor deficiency lists, punch lists, and receipt of record drawings.
Position Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in construction projects, with 8 years of experience preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in an architecture or engineering field is preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to convey complex issues to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work effectively with others, self-starter with a results-driven focus.
- Aviation experience, preferably at SFO and with SFO leadership, inspections teams, etc.
- Conversant in aviation business terminology.
$180,000 - $215,000 a yearThe salary range for this position is $150,000 to $190,000. A hired employee will be placed within this salary range based on a variety of legitimate business reasons, including but not limited to the individual’s scope of relevant experience and geographic location.
Additional Requirements
Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
