General Summary:
As an Agri-Carbon Implementation Analyst, you will join our growing Agri-Carbon team where your core focus will be to support offset and inset project development efforts within the regenerative agriculture space. You will play a key role in developing high quality carbon offset and inset projects, leading third-party validation and verification processes, and working with farmers to implement sustainable practice changes and novel technologies. Successful candidates will have a strong mix of project management skills, knowledge of the offset development process, and comfort in technical considerations of GHG quantification.
Primary Responsibilities and Competencies:
- Work with prospective clients, farmers, and technology providers to ensure that on-farm practices and production data are accurately and efficiently monitored and collected
- Lead the quantification of GHG emissions reductions and rates of soil carbon sequestration for aggregated offset projects
- Perform statistical analyses of emission reductions and results of soil sampling
- Liaise with clients and third-parties to manage the collection and quality control of soil samples and other relevant GHG data
- Process, clean, and validate the integrity of collected data
- Prepare technical documents and SOPs for verifiers, management, and stakeholders
- Participate in site visits to agricultural sites throughout North America
- Required Education, Experience and Certification:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in environmental science, engineering, or data science
- Experience and comfort managing client and third-party relationships
- Experience working with agricultural GHG modelling software such as DayCent, DNDC, COMET-Farm, or GREET
- Experience working with mapping tools such as ArcGIS or Carto
- Familiarity with python and R programming
Preferred Education, Qualifications & Experience:
- 2-4 years working in a relevant field (agriculture, climate change, sustainability, soil analysis, etc.)
- A familiarity with carbon offset project protocols and experience managing the offset project development process
- Knowledge of the implementation of regenerative farming practices (no-till, cover cropping, improved nitrogen use efficiency, etc.)
- Experience in soil fertility analysis or other agricultural sciences (agronomy training or similar)
- Experience using remote sensing tools in agronomic decision-making
Skills:
- Ability to effectively communicate scientific and statistical topics to a mixed audience
