Barbaricum is seeking an Personnel Recovery Coordinator to support SOCSOUTH’s mission. The SOCSOUTH mission is to plan, prepare for, and, when directed, conduct special operations in support of USSOUTHCOM strategies, plans, and operations. The Personnel Recovery Coordinator will provide support to SOCSOUTH Personnel Recovery Coordination Cell (PRCC).


Responsibilities


  • Provide direct support to Special Operations Command South (SOCSOUTH) Personnel Recovery Coordination Cell (PRCC) duties and responsibilities In Accordance With (IAW) United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) Regulation 05-11 PR, Appendix B Responsibilities (Components and SOCSOUTH sections) and United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Directive 525-21, USSOCOM Component and TSOC Commanders.
  • Attend SOCSOUTH Mission in Briefs (MIBs) and Mission out Briefs (MOBs) and provide recommendations based on SOCSOUTH/SOCOM/SOUTHCOM PR Policies.
  • Attend SOCSOUTH Key Battle rhythm events to address PR matters. Events include J3 standup, Campaign Sync, MIBs/MOBs, and SAFD O&I. 
  • Provide After Action Reports (AARs) to capture key activities to include TDYs, exercises, and conferences.  Reports shall be submitted NLT 10 business days and approved SOCSOUTH official letterhead.
  • Provide monthly progress reports to the COR NLT 10th day of each month.  Report will include monthly accomplishments, short/long term goals, performance issues, workload conflicts related to PR. 
  • Create and maintain a continuity book of all key PR Coordinator functions within SOCSOUTH. Continuity book must be kept current and subject to annual review by COR or as events dictate.
  • Assist SOCSOUTH PRCC to ensure PR is fully integrated into USSOUTHCOM & SOCSOUTH plans, CONOPs, orders, training, and exercises.
  • Provide PR services throughout the USSOUTHCOM AOR to enable PR capabilities on behalf of CDR SOCSOUTH.  All initiatives and activities will be coordinated through the SOCSOUTH PRCC.  SOCSOUTH PRCC will retain flexibility for expansions, reductions, or shifting support requirements as the mission dictates.
  • Assist SOCSOUTH PRCC with the administration and management of the SOCSOUTH PR program.
  • Provide direct PR support to SOUTHCOM/SOCOM/SOCSOUTH exercises as needed, may require travel OCONUS during exercise where PR scenario exists as part of the exercise. Estimate 1-2 OCONUS TDYs annually NTE 10 days. Will visit and/or accompany government personnel when traveling OCONUS.
  • Possess or complete the following courses within 6 months of hiring:  Specialized Escape Training SERE 250J or SERE 350, PR Execution SERE 300, Joint Urban Evasion Training Instructor Course SERE 271, Graduate of PR 303 – Non-Conventional Assisted Recovery Plans and Operations
  • Complete the following Joint Knowledge Online (JKO) Computer Based Training (CBTs) upon arrival.
  • PR 102 Fundamentals of Personnel Recovery (PR)
  • PR 106 Introduction to DOD Reintegration
  • PR 130 DOD support to PR in a Chief of Mission (COM) Environment

Qualifications


  • Active DoD Secret clearance and ability to obtain a TS/SCI
  • 10 years prior military experience, experience working in a SOF headquarters required.
  • Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience working/coordinating in a Personnel Recovery Coordination Cell (PRCC) or Joint Personnel Recovery Center (JPRC)
  • Graduated SERE Level C training.
