Position Summary
The project control’s role in the Midwest region involves working with multiple stakeholders to prepare, update, and review design and construction schedules in Primavera P6 and forecast and update cost projections. The qualified candidate will review change orders prepared by contractors which may involve cost and time adjustments and gather schedule and cost project information and related owner tasks to translate the data to accurately reflect the overall progress on the projects.
In this role, the successful candidate will:
- Coordinate with contractors and the project team to develop a realistic baseline schedule that meets the project objectives.
- Facilitate interactive planning sessions with the project team when new contractors are onboarded or when major deviations occur from the baseline.
- Review and ensure all disciplines in the project including Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Startup/Commissioning are appropriately defined at the required level of detail.
- Develop a process for integrating cost control accounts and configure the P6 schedule to successfully interact with the cost management platform.
- Collect and analyze project progress data to assess project performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) which include earned value management (SPI & CPI) and commodity curves.
- Maintain effective communication with contractors and collaborate with Project Managers, project controls manager, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of project goals, expectations, and deliverables.
- Collaborate with project controls manager and Project Managers to forecast FTEs by trade and ensure optimal utilization of contractor resources. Monitor resource allocation and recommend adjustments/leveling to maintain project efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for schedule improvement by creating what-if schedules. Implement best practices and lessons learned to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, project/ construction management, or a related field
- 10+ years’ experience in project controls, project management, or a similar role
- Field experience in Oil & Gas or manufacturing industries preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the preparation, and development of resource-loaded design and construction schedules using the Critical Path Method (CPM) required.
- Relevant construction scheduling experience in planning, scheduling, expediting, maintaining, and reporting the progress/status of work required.
- Strong knowledge and proficiency in project management methodologies, schedule and cost control tools, and software
- Excellent written and verbal communication ability coupled with the ability to work as part of a fast-paced team.

Additional Requirements
Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
