Position Summary
PMA has immediate openings for a full-time multi-year position of Energy and Sustainability Project Manager/Owner’s Project Manager to support major building rehabilitation projects for various clients in the metro Boston area. The successful candidate(s) will have extensive experience working on Energy and Sustainability focused projects and the ability to work closely with the existing PMA OPM team and be physically located on-site. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple projects through all phases in a project life cycle, from inception to close out.
Client Support Responsibilities
- Navigation of multiple procurement methods, including MGL Chapter 25A, 149, and 149A
- Prioritize recommended building upgrades to yield the greatest energy and sustainability savings.
- Development of contract documents to support new projects and procurement types.
- Solicitation of Request for Qualifications (RFQs) and Request for Proposals (RFPs) for both Design Consultants and General Contractors.
- Prepare, coordinate, and review consultant and/or General Contractor RFQs/RFPs,
- Assist in coordinating and securing all necessary internal and external project approvals,
- Provide technical and professional assistance in ranking and evaluating proposals,
- Drive the contract and fee negotiation process for A/Es or GCs,
- Work in conjunction with the consultants during the design phase to ensure adherence to scope, budget, and schedule.
- Manages the consultant, contractor, and engineering services during the construction phase.
- Manages the various key stakeholders and project participants through construction and project completion.
- Responsible for the project schedule and project budget, in tandem, through all phases of the project’s life cycle
Other typical responsibilities include routinely following up on action items, attending meetings with the client and generating meeting minutes, assisting project staff (consultants and client personnel), developing and preparing progress reports and presentations, and performing other duties required to support the client and project(s).
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field required.
- 10+ years of related experience working as part of a project team.
- Experience with MGL Chapter 25A is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional ability to remain organized and handle multiple action items simultaneously required.
- Proficiency in MS Office and MS Teams required.
- Working knowledge of PMWeb or Procore preferred
- Working knowledge of Primavera P6 or similar software is preferred.
- Ability to pass a security background check required.
