Overview
Here at the OraSure family of companies our innovative sampling tools, services and diagnostics unlock access to accurate, essential information that advances global health and well-being. Our products include molecular sampling kits for the genome and microbiome, cutting-edge services and analytics, rapid diagnostics for infectious disease, and tests for substance abuse. The Director of Global Accounting manages and coordinates activities of the Global Cost Accounting, Global Fixed Assets, and Global Accounts Payable groups to ensure the integrity of corporate financial statements.
Snapshot of Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise a team to ensure they learn and develop their ability to analyze financial statements and financial statement accounts to ensure the accuracy of inventory and cost of goods sold
- Manages SAP costing systems for all operations including global entities to ensure completeness and integrity of all costing and inventory valuation data, which includes, but may not be all inclusive:
- Manage the calculation and maintenance of standard costs for all locations;
- Manage inventory accounting including reserve calculation and scrap analysis;
- Manages month-end actual costing data including cost of goods sold and inventory valuation for all locations;
- Act as the accounting lead in the annual physical inventory process;
- Investigate manufacturing variances and implements corrective action;
- Participate in the calculation of burden rates and sets up expense budgets for manufacturing and service departments;
- Checks and clears data and labor and material costs burden and expense items, inventory, and profit and loss adjustments.
- Participate in the budget and forecasts of the operations group
- Participate in or prepares cost estimates of new or specialized products for establishing selling prices and production forecasts.
- Identifies, coordinates and reviews cost accounting projects
- Provides accounting direction to global operations team regarding inventory capitalization, expense (accrual) timing and recognition, etc.
- Provides Sarbanes-Oxley direction to global operations team regarding new/existing procedure compliance.
- Develops and implements automated systems for cost accounting to maximize the efficiency of the department and accuracy of information.
Fixed Assets- Manage Senior Accountant or Staff Accountant responsible for fixed asset accounting providing guidance on accounting questions and SAP configuration/transactions when needed
Accounts Payable- Manage the Accounts Payable team to ensure proper accounting for Accounts Payable invoices and relate expenses
Other- Review and manage, assigned financial close activities, general ledger journal entries, journal entry review of entries prepared by direct reports, and reconciliations
- Manage global prepaids, accruals, Concur, payroll and any other expense processes that may be assigned
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert for SAP (Finance/Controlling, Fixed Asset, and Accounts Payable) modules including personnel SAP access changes
- Participate in the teams to facilitate integration of new companies or product lines into SAP
What You Bring
- 4 year College Degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
- 10 to 15 years of accounting experience, including experience in a leadership capacity
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred
- Experience with managing inventory and costing in SAP, preferred
- Knowledge of Windows environment, preferably Microsoft Office Products.
- Ability to create and use Spreadsheets Excel is essential.
- Experience with SAP Software is essential.
$129,000 - $233,000 a yearThe base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000 to $233,000 USD. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base salary for the position, based on our defined salary pay ranges. Our ranges are broad to account for differences in roles, performance, experience, skillsets, education and business needs and individual pay is determined by a variety of factors.
