Structural CAD Technician / Designer:
A. Morton Thomas, Inc. (AMT, Inc.)
is seeking a highly motivated CAD Designer / Technician to join and assume a key role in the firm’s growing Structural Engineering design team. Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of 8 years of experience working on DOT Transportation projects in Pennsylvania and other geographical areas with the firm’s footprint. A proficiency with transportation structures is required and necessary to work with the Structural Engineering design teams producing high-quality plans from project setup to final submission.
The Position
We are looking for a CAD Designer / Technician to perform structural design plan development on transportation and infrastructure, particularly on highway bridge, projects throughout AMT’s geographical footprint. The position is for a highly motivated individual with previous experience on DOT projects with construction plan setup, plan redline markups, ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision from the engineering team, and mentoring young staff on proper drafting skills. The potential for rapid advancement for the right individual will be considered. Position will be part of the Structural Engineering design team with the flexibility to perform work in a hybrid environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology preferred, but not required;
- Minimum of 8 years of Bridge/Structural CAD/Designer experience;
- Required Knowledge of State and Municipal CAD standards;
- Required Experience and Technical proficiency with Bentley Microstation, OpenRoads Designer (ORD), and/or OpenBridge Designer (ORB);
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D a plus, but not required;
- Experience working with various DOT Clients is a plus;
- A keen eye for detail;
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn;
- In addition to the basic requirements above, the ideal candidate should be technically sound, have a passion for outstanding client service, establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and other team members.
