MBL Technologies is hiring for a
Business Continuity Subject Matter Expert (SME).
The individual will aid in the development, management, and refinement of continuity and contingency plans for large federal organizations. The individual will blend excellent customer service skills with experience in the key concepts and strategies supporting continuity of operations, business continuity, test, training and exercises, incident management, IT contingency and disaster recovery planning. This role is contingent upon award of contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement viable and sustainable emergency preparedness and recovery plans for the essential functions of the supporting Federal agency.
- Use established frameworks and methodologies as best practices for the interpretation of and relevant standards of and best practices for the Federal agency.
- Assist with continuity planning for the Federal agency, including mapping systems to processes, identifying operational orders of recovery, and supporting non-technical work developments to mitigate operational impacts to the Federal agency.
- Identify and lead the development of additional continuity capabilities to mitigate the risk to the operations and service delivery of the Federal agency.
- Work with the BC/DR team in development of operational recovery and reconstitution plans for the Federal agency.
- Performs other official job duties and projects as assigned in support of the Federal agency.
Required Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field.
- Certification with reputable emergency management or business continuity organization; preferably Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), and/or Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)
- Minimum 8 – 10 years specialized experience in business continuity planning.
- Proven experience in implementing Federal Continuity Directive 1 & 2 requirements and Federal Emergency Management Agency guidelines.
- Experience presenting information to executive level personnel with limited emergency management knowledge.
- Experience in working with large and small groups to build awareness, test plans, and improve organizational readiness.
- Expert knowledge and understanding of project management.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to conduct impact analysis, detect threats/hazards, and identify essential functions.
- Significant, proven experience as a member of a team and team leader; positive interpersonal skills and customer services orientated, particularly with clients from a wide variety of business cultures.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint) to create documents, briefings, and leadership reports.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.
