DSFederal,Inc. is looking for a Requirements Analyst to play a key role in assisting with elicitation of technical/non-technical requirements for a federal project, including communicating with stakeholders, performing backlog grooming sessions, requirements analysis, feature/user story development, test case development, validating data and information, presenting findings, preparing presentations, and creating necessary supporting documentation. This is a contingent position.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead business and requirement analysis activities.
- Work collaboratively and proactively with the customer and development team to fully understand the program and business processes, including facilitating requirement elaboration sessions, and documenting the output.
- Collaborate closely with the Agile development team, actively participating in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and prioritization activities.
- Engage with project stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document software and non-software requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of business needs.
- Develop features and user stories based on requirements, ensuring that detailed scenarios are provided to guide the development team.
- Develop the initial test cases and coordinate with testers to make sure the test cases are well understood.
- Maintain traceability matrices, ensuring that requirements are seamlessly mapped to user stories and test cases throughout the development lifecycle.
- Play a key role in backlog grooming sessions, facilitating the discussions with stakeholders and providing insights into feasibility, clarity, and testability of requirements.
- Deliver high-quality requirements specifications in specified formats that enable ease-of-use for the intended audience/cross functional team members.
- Assist the team and the customer decision-makers in mapping the requirements implementation against the timeline.
- Oversee the testing efforts, if required by the PM.
Requirements
Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of related work experience, with a track record of supporting Agile software development.
- Proven experience in business and requirements analysis, documentation and traceability; backlog grooming; and developing user stories.
- Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities to insure timely completion of tasks.
- Critical analytical skills and be a creative thinker.
- Superb written and oral communication skills.
- Experience facilitating meetings with customer stakeholders at various levels of seniority.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and multi-task in a high volume,fast-paced work environment.
- Must be flexible and be a team player
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and customers.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree
- A degree in required field of study: Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
Desired Certifications:
- Agile, IIBA or Lean Six Sigma certifications is preferred.
