A strategic position intended to develop and grow a supply chain that supports current production of assigned commodities, as well as New Product Development. This position is responsible for supporting our Operations team with tactical issues, as well as driving strategic initiatives to help improve targeted metrics. This position works closely with Supplier Quality to proactively address supplier performance issues, and resource components when necessary. The successful candidate for this position must be a good facilitator and communicator amongst all levels of the organization.Employment subject to the ability to obtain a U.S.
export license, if required.Key Job Responsibilities
- Experience in procurement in Electronics or automotive-like environment
- Demonstrated CI success in automotive-like environment
- Experience in contract negotiation and make vs buy analysis
- Support and drive SCM activities required in the New Product Development process
- Work with Supplier Quality to ensure suppliers are capable of meeting PPAP/FMEA/APQP requirements
- Execute strategic sourcing events and transition plans as required
- Scope and manage projects to deliver cost savings across inbound, outbound, and intercompany expenses
- Work with cross-functional teams to improve supplier on-time delivery and SPPM by utilizing the monthly scorecard and bottom supplier report
- Improve overall supply chain by reducing lead times, ensuring optimal MOQ, and managing blanket order process
- Responsible for establishing pricing, MOQ, and supplier negotiations for assigned commodity codes
- Perform annual commodity overview looking at supplier performance, risk, roadmap, and overall strategy
- Work with value stream managers to reduce secondary operations and improve VMI programs
- Support resourcing activities for REACH, RoHS, TSCA, and other environmental compliance requests
- Manage Premium freight spend and help construct policies to reduce spend
- Define metrics to assist in evaluation during supply chain sourcing activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (Supply Chain major or related field) required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- APICS and/or LEAN / Six Sigma Green Belt Certified preferred, or willingness to obtain
- 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing including production planning, managing end-to-end supply chain and procurement (Engineering background preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and previous experience in negotiating contracts
- Strong team player who can work across multiple functions
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
- Experience with ERP programs preferred
- Ability and Experience in problem resolution using root cause analysis, FMEA and applying these principles to resolve Quality issues
- Ability to travel internationally
