DSFederal,Inc. is seeking an experienced Collaborative Technologies – Lead Developer to support a federal health agency’s IT services program. The Collaborative Technologies – Lead Developer will harness the capabilities of low-code/no-code development platforms to streamline application development, enabling rapid delivery of high-quality software solutions and workflow automation; responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of collaborative technology solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of agile methodologies, user-centric design, and security compliance to enhance the Institute's IT capabilities and support its mission in research.
This is a contingent position.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategic Oversight:
- Provide technical and strategic leadership in the development of collaborative technologies.
- Manage a team of developers and coordinate with IT leadership to align technology solutions with organizational goals.
Agile Application Development:
- Lead the use of agile methodologies to design, develop, and deploy applications using low-code/no-code platforms.
- Ensure solutions meet the dynamic needs of the Client and adhere to best practices in software development.
Custom Solution Engineering:
- Develop robust, scalable custom solutions using low-code/no-code platforms to address specific organizational needs.
- Continuously improve solution features and functionality based on stakeholder feedback and business requirements.
User-Centric Design:
- Focus on creating intuitive interfaces and responsive applications that ensure user accessibility and satisfaction.
- Implement design thinking processes to enhance user experience across all developed applications.
Security and Compliance:
- Collaborate with Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) personnel to integrate security best practices into all phases of product development.
- Ensure all collaborative technologies comply with security and privacy regulations.
Operational Maintenance and Support:
- Offer high-level ongoing support for the Client’s collaborative technologies, including Microsoft 365 services.
- Manage and support technologies such as Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Develop and maintain essential documentation including SOPs, security artifacts, and training materials.
- Report on technology performance metrics to aid in decision-making and strategic planning.
Stakeholder Engagement and Requirements Gathering:
- Work closely with stakeholders to define project scopes, gather requirements, and prioritize projects based on strategic value.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration with both internal teams and external partners.
Quality Assurance and Innovation:
- Conduct security and quality assurance testing on all new deployments.
- Explore and integrate emerging technologies to enhance the digital transformation journey.
Others:
- Adhere to Client’s change, incident, and communications management plans.
- Develop, maintain, and report relevant metrics on the task area.
- Monitor and test new releases and patches to base software.
- Create workflows to automate forms and business processes.
- Assist with troubleshooting advanced technical issues and assist end users with selecting the correct technology to meet their requirements.
- Encourage and help facilitate the adoption of M365 services, including SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business within the Institute.
- Guide SharePoint workflows and user permissions management.
- Conduct annual user account reviews of SharePoint sites.
Requirements
Experience Required:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience leading a technical team supporting a Microsoft 365 environment.
- Analytical focus on continuous improvement and optimization of agile application development and custom solutions engineering.
- Strong experience with low-code/no-code platforms, custom solutions engineering, requirements gathering, user-centric design, M365 Support and service, incident, and problem management.
Technical/Skills Required:
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Extensive experience in software development, including leadership roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, and other collaborative technologies like Microsoft Power Platform services, Microsoft Dataverse, Microsoft Planner, Microsoft Forms, Microsoft Stream, Microsoft FindTime, Microsoft Viva Services, Microsoft Bookings, Box.com.
- Strong knowledge of agile methodologies, user-centric design, and security compliance.
- Knowledge of supporting technologies, including ShareGate and Nintex Workflow.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience supporting collaborative technology solutions in support of the Federal Government.
- Experience supporting collaborative technology solutions at the Department of Health and Human Services.
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Certification
- Required: Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert.
