Main Purpose:
We are seeking a full-time Quality Assurance manager in our Houma, LA location. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with operation management to lead and enhance our established QA/QC programs and fabrication procedures. Responsibilities include maintaining, ensuring quality, and continuous improvement across all process procedures, certification programs, and fabrication stamps. The position will report to the Chief Executive Officer.
Essential Functions:
- Capable of working with supervision and management to create and issue new procedures to control quality in all divisions.
- Capable of holding meetings to discuss quality and/or train craft and supervision to enhance quality.
- Works with the Quality Assurance Coordinator to maintain and report all ISO 9001 audits, NCR/CAR, trends, and management reviews to committees as needed.
- Establishes and/or recommends QA/QC operation objectives and related procedures in welding, fabrication, and departmental processes to ensure quality.
- Oversees welding and qualification programs for all business units and maintains quality throughout the process.
- Able to perform risk assessments and report findings to upper management.
- Selects, trains, and supervises staff and directs assigned operations and activities through them.
- Continuously improves and maintains all certification programs and fabrication stamps to meet industry requirements.
- Maintains awareness of new and improved welding techniques, procedures, and related equipment and recommends changes to improve Gulf Island processes.
- Ability to engage with regulatory and client audits to report key metrics and processes to maintain all business units.
- Conducts cost surveys for welding supplies and equipment and provides cost analysis (per pound) of welding material and supplies.
- Ability to hold functional meetings with the department heads and clients to report quality progress or solve quality issues.
- Assist the estimating department with NDE, welding cost, and needed manpower to support projects.
- Perform other related duties as required.

Job Requirements:
- Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- May be required to travel up to 10% of the time.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and typical database knowledge.
- Ability to prioritize and work proactively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Desirable Experience and Education, and Training:
- Minimum of 8 years of Quality Control Management experience in the manufacturing and/or oil and gas industries.
- ISO 9001 auditor certification preferred.
- Certified Welding Inspector license preferred.
- TWIC preferred
Environmental Conditions:
- The individual would be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions, dust, and noise, with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
