This candidate will provide Information system support for government Public Building System (PBS) servers, networks, applications, and devices. The project includes a wide range of service and support for Help Desk, installation, provisioning, patching, updating, securing, monitoring, and reporting on the performance and availability of assets and applications.This candidate will conduct routine system administration tasks and logging data in system admin logs. They will be Responsible for maintaining system efficiency.
Experience in maintaining troubleshooting a wide variety of systems and networks to include high volume/high availability systems. They must have knowledge on several debugging protocols and processes. Must be able to troubleshoot problems and issues identified by customers and implement corrective actions quickly. This candidate will require a solid understanding of Linux administration as you help design, build and test new systems employed by our customer to support ongoing operations.
This position is contingent on award of surge support modification.

Requirements
Certifications (Required):
At least two (2) of the following:
- CompTIA Linux+ Certification
- Red hat Certified System Administrator
- CompTIA A+
- CompTIA Security+
- ITIL
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline.
- Minimum 8-10 years of relevant work experience.
- 8-10 Years of System Administration (SA) Experience with Linux and Microsoft based servers
- Must be able to work Weekends and Shift Schedules
- Must have experience with RHEL 8
- 3-4 Years experience in JBOSS
- Must be able to support Billing Procedures from 8:00 PM - 4:00 AM on 15th of every month
- Experience in using various network protocols like HTTP, UDP, FTP, and TCP/IP.
- Ability to perform system administration and integration of system fixes, updates and enhancements
- Must be able to support Billing Test Procedures multiple times during the week and possibly evenings/overnight.
- Troubleshoot application software solutions, operating systems and hardware
- Deploy applications software (J2EE war/ear) to PROD/DEV/QA environments in JBOSS environments.
- Analyze system logs and/or identify potential issues
- Support Integrations to billing systems

Primary Responsibilities:
- As a Systems Engineer you will be responsible for maintaining system administration support activities for a large complex network environment with geographically distributed systems
- The position will have you supporting solutions requiring high-availability and without fail
- The Systems Engineer will be responsible for performing daily Linux/Unix and hardware support tasks and documentation of technical standards
- Viewed as a technology subject matter expert; able to provide and communicate complex technology solutions across different audiences including technical, managerial, business executives, and/or vendors
- Will have responsibility for multiple, complex projects; will direct activities of teams related to special initiatives or operations and may have direct reports
- Leads the resolution process for complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors
- Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results
- Provide real-time technical support for environments and supported applications and technologies on Red hat Jboss, Apache Tomcat and Jboss Webserver
- Provide technical support in JBOSS/middleware services including Patching, upgrading performance tuning and provide production support, etc.
- Must be able to support Billing Procedures from 8:00 PM - 4:00 AM on 15th of every month

Other Information:
- The salary for this position is $90,000 - $138,000 annually
