We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance to lead our finance department. The successful candidate will oversee the operations of accounting, tax, and financial reporting functions, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements including GAAP and FASB. This role is critical in supporting the organization’s strategic objectives by providing expert financial guidance and management.
This full-time position requires three days of in-office work per week in Bethesda, MD.

- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP, CAS, and FAR regulations.
- Proven experience in managing financial audits and DCAA interactions.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in financial modeling and forecasting.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a proven track record of managing and developing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all financial operations comply with GAAP, FASB, CAS, and FAR regulations. Oversee the preparation of financial reports, tax returns, and audit files.
- Cost Control: Monitor and ensure the allowability and allocability of costs in accordance with CAS and FAR regulations.
- Revenue Recognition: Manage and review the organization's wrap rate and LCAT/billing rates to ensure accurate and compliant revenue recognition.
- Project Financial Management: Provide oversight on project financials, monitoring burn rates and making adjustments to ensure financial health and compliance of projects.
- Financial Forecasting: Lead the financial forecasting efforts, including project-specific forecasts, to aid in strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
- DCAA Audit and Defense: Represent the company during DCAA audits and actively participate in audit defense to ensure favorable outcomes.
- Annual Financial Audits: Coordinate and lead annual financial audits and reviews of tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all financial reporting.
- 401K and Benefits Management: Manage the company’s 401K plan, including portfolio oversight and fee chart reviews. Negotiate and review annual healthcare and business insurance plans to optimize costs and benefits.
- Team Development: Train and coach project managers on financial forecasting and cost control to enhance their financial acumen and improve project profitability.

- The salary for this position is $100,000 - $200,000 annually depending on experience
