The Team
We build and own the delivery of the customer portal in GBG’s Documents and Biometrics portfolio; part of a solution that helps with document verification and digital trust. We are cross functional team who pride ourselves on our collaborative spirit. We value every team member’s expertise, and each member contributes to our collective success. Our daily work follows Agile methodology, placing a strong emphasis on automation.
The Role
As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure solutions within the Documents & Biometrics product portfolio. We utilize Amazon Web Services as a cloud platform of choice.
What you will do
- Design, implement, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.
- Collaborate within a cross-functional team to gather and understand application requirements and provide cloud solutions accordingly.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation, EKS, and other services.
- Support deployment, monitoring, and management of IDScan cloud-based assets.
- Ensure the availability, performance, scalability, and security of production systems.
- Identify automation opportunities to improve operations.
- System troubleshooting and problem solving across multiple platforms (dev/test/prod).
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to ensure new environments meet functional, operational and security requirements.
Requirements
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a DevOps Engineer or similar role.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent IT systems experience
- Experience with AWS and some, or all, of the following services: CloudFormation, CloudFront, SSM, WAF, S3, EC2, ALB/ELB, ElastiCache (Redis), RDS (MySQL, Aurora, Microsoft SQL Server).
- Experience with MS technologies are a plus (Server, IIS, Clustering)
- Familiarity with multiple database technologies (MS SQL, MySQL, Redis)
- Automation Skills: Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, preferably AWS CloudFormation, and scripting languages (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
- Security Focus: Familiarity with security best practices in cloud environments.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively while working remotely.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer is a plus.
- Continuous Learning: Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on the latest cloud technologies.
