Sr. Data Engineer | About You
As a Sr. Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and architecture within the healthcare industry. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the data infrastructure is optimized for performance and scalability. You should have in-depth expertise with cloud platforms, large-scale data processing, and modern workflow orchestration tools. You will ensure data quality and compliance with data governance standards. Strong team and project leadership skills will be valuable for this role.
Sr. Data Engineer | Day-to-Day
- Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines from Cerner to the integrated system for MLOps applications, ensuring efficient and reliable data flow.
- Develop and optimize data workflows using Apache Airflow, and process and analyze large datasets with BigQuery and PySpark.
- Deploy and manage data infrastructure on cloud platforms such as GCP and Azure, including implementing and managing cloud databases and data structures.
- Utilize Kubernetes and Docker for containerization and orchestration, tuning and monitoring pipeline performance for optimal efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership by making informed architectural decisions, mentoring team members on best practices, and collaborating with a Cerner specialist for specific integration challenges.
Sr. Data Engineer | Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering with a proven track record of designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines.
- Advanced skills in Python for data processing and automation, with strong experience in BigQuery and/or PySpark, and workflow coordination tools like Apache Airflow.
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms, specifically GCP and Azure, and in-depth knowledge of cloud databases and data structures.
- Experience with MLOps, integrating machine learning models into production data pipelines, and with Kubernetes and Docker for effective containerization and orchestration.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication and collaboration abilities.
- Experience working with healthcare data is a bonus!
