R Shiny Developer | About You
As an R Shiny Developer, you are responsible for designing, developing, and implementing front-end and back-end software for complex web applications. You will create dynamic user-facing interactive visualization tools with high-performing responsiveness, usability, and visual appeal. You will translate software requirements into working and maintainable solutions within the existing application frameworks. You are highly passionate about storytelling and can drive the development process from the initial prototype through the implementation of the final product.
R Shiny Developer | Day-to-Day
- Lead the development of back-end solutions primarily using R, with some C++ and STAN.
- Modify web applications and collaborate with the front-end team to implement user interfaces using Shiny, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Implement optimizations to enhance application performance and responsiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of back-end development efforts with overall project objectives.
- Share knowledge and best practices with team members through code reviews, tech talks, or internal documentation.
- Develop new features, enhance existing features, and implement bug fixes.
R Shiny Developer | Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of proven back-end development experience with a strong focus on R, with additional proficiency in C++ and STAN.
- Solid understanding of front-end technologies including Shiny, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related libraries.
- Experience with relational databases and non-relational databases.
- Background in file management systems and optimization techniques.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload effectively, and meet project deadlines.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum or other iterative development methodologies.
