Site Manager Position Overview


The Site Manager plays a pivotal role in the efficient and effective operation of a renewable energy manufacturing plant specializing in the production of Class C components for internal towers for wind turbines, as well as rework on Class A tower internals. This position encompasses a broad range of responsibilities spanning operational, managerial, and strategic domains. The Site Manager is tasked with overseeing all facets of plant operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards, driving productivity, optimizing resource utilization, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Essential Responsibilities


  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure the efficient functioning of all plant operations.
  • Oversee production schedules, inventory management, and logistics to meet customer demands and production targets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational challenges and optimize processes.
  • Ability to manage profit and loss operations. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing, welding, CNC machines, as it pertains to the wind industry
  • Strong communication skills & ability to share information with managers, departments and team members
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills. 
  • Uphold strict adherence to safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and certifications in the renewable energy industry.
  • Implement and maintain rigorous quality control measures to uphold product integrity.
  • Lead, motivate, and mentor a diverse team of production staff, technicians, and support personnel.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Identify training needs and facilitate skill development initiatives to enhance team capabilities.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement strategies to optimize productivity, minimize downtime, and reduce manufacturing costs.
  • Represent the plant in meetings, negotiations, and industry forums to promote the organization's interests.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with relevant regulations, standards, and certifications governing the renewable energy industry, including safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
  • Supply Chain Management: Understanding of supply chain principles, logistics, and inventory management to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
  • Sustainability Practices: Awareness of sustainability principles and practices to minimize environmental impact and promote sustainable manufacturing processes.
  • Risk Management: Knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation strategies to identify and address potential operational risks and ensure business continuity.
  • Bachelor's Degree: Typically, a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required for this role.
  • Advanced Degree (Preferred): An advanced degree, such as a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) or a Master's in Engineering Management, can provide additional qualifications and enhance leadership capabilities.
  • Professional Certifications: Relevant certifications in areas such as project management (e.g., PMP), quality management (e.g., Six Sigma), or safety management (e.g., OSHA certification) can be advantageous.
